CMake based build system for Axis2/C
January 16th, 2010
This post is about the new CMake based build system for Axis2/C. Once the patch applies to the Axis2/C trunk the Axis2/C community will benefit from it.
CMake is a cross platform build system. It generates build files for native build environments(i.e. Makefile for UNIX/Linux, VS Projects/Workspaces for Windows and Xcode for Apple). It’s doing the same job as popular GNU build tools(autoconf, automake, Libtool). CMake has a lot of cool features. Some of are listed below. And CMake is opensource.
CMake features
1. Manage, complex and large build environments (ex: KDE4)
2. Very Flexible and Extensible.
3. Very simple script language for build script writing.
4. Support both in-source and out-source builds.
5. Cross compiling.
6. Integrated testing and packaging tools(CTest, CPack)
Instructions to use CMake build system for Axis2/C on UNIX/Linux
The build has written to run as a out of source build. This mean that the build files and then object files will be generated out side of the main source tree.
Once you checkout the soure from the trunk, issue the following commands to build Axis2/C using CMake. You need to have CMake installed(2.6 or above) on your system.
1. export AXIS2C_HOME=/path/where/you/want/axis2c/to/live
(e.g.: export AXIS2C_HOME=/home/rajika/project/axis2c/axis2-build/deploy)
2. mkdir axis2c-build(assuming you are at /home/rajika/project/axis2c/)
3. cd axis2c-build
4. cmake ../ (you have checked out the Axis2/C source into /home/rajika/project/axis2c/)
5. make
6. make install
Done!. You’ll see all the binaries are available inside deploy directory together with the libraries and the configuration files requires to run the server and the samples successfully.
It built within less than 20 seconds in my laptop(running Fedora 10 with gcc 4.3.2 with Dual core processors-2.20GHz,2.20GHz and with 3GB of physical memory). Following are few screen shots of Axis2/C CMake build in action. You’ll notice the cool CMake features there.

Support for CXF in Enunciate
January 16th, 2010
Enunciate is a popular framework which can be used to deploy and expose Java applications as WEB applications. I had read good reviews about it long before I joined the CXF JAX-RS project.
Thus I was quite excited when I found out from this announcement CXF JAX-RS was also optionally supported. Please see some more information from the modules page which says that CXF JAXWS and JAXRS frontends are supported (as a side note, CXF users can deploy endpoints without depending on Spring by relying on non-Spring CXF servlets).
I would like to use this post to encourage the leads of other higher-level frameworks to let users choose between different web services enablers and those exposing Java applications as RESTful services in particular, by doing it the way Enunciate did.
It will not harm. Giving users a choice never harms. The most likely sideeffect is that your favourite framework will likely see more users coming in.
I hope Enunciate will make CXF and CXF JAX-RS more visible. Likewise I hope Enunciate will enjoy seeing a number of its users rising in turn too. I will be happy to play with this framework later on too and see if I can contribute somehow.

Web design
November 25th, 2009
Web design is the skill of creating presentations of content (usually hypertext or hypermedia) that is delivered to an end-user through the World Wide Web, by way of a Web browser or other Web-enabled software like Internet television clients, microblogging clients and RSS readers.
Web design is a kind of graphic design intended for development and styling of objects of the Internet’s information environment to provide them with high-end consumer features and aesthetic qualities. The offered definition separates web design from web programming, emphasizing the functional features of a web site, as well as positioning web design as a kind of graphic design.[1]
The process of designing web pages, web sites, web applications or multimedia for the Web may utilize multiple disciplines, such as animation, authoring, communication design, corporate identity, graphic design, human-computer interaction, information architecture, interaction design, marketing, photography, search engine optimization and typography. Link Building Agency
* Markup languages (such as HTML, XHTML and XML)
* Style sheet languages (such as CSS and XSL)
* Client-side scripting (such as JavaScript)
* Server-side scripting (such as PHP and ASP)
* Database technologies (such as MySQL and PostgreSQL)
* Multimedia technologies (such as Flash and Silverlight)
Web pages and web sites can be static pages, or can be programmed to be dynamic pages that automatically adapt content or visual appearance depending on a variety of factors, such as input from the end-user, input from the Webmaster or changes in the computing environment (such as the site’s associated database having been modified).
With growing specialization within communication design and information technology fields, there is a strong tendency to draw a clear line between Web Designing india specifically for web pages and web development for the overall logistics of all web-based services.

Multimedia Presentations
November 4th, 2009
The way businesses communicate with their audience has undergone a drastic change. Instead of using makeshift slide combinations, now most companies realise the importance of using professionally created multimedia presentations to promote their business.
In fact, research indicates that investing in a high-quality multimedia presentation gets you far better returns as compared to conventional tools of marketing. Most of the consumers do not have the time to read text based advertising. They would rather prefer to watch a multimedia movie that is far more engaging.
When you plan to get a multimedia movie for your business, ensure to contact a professional agency that has experience in the field. Most customers rush to the first web design company that they find for this purpose, however the fundamentals are quite different in case of presentations.
No matter what may be your business – hospitality, catering, real estate or application development – a professionally and tastefully created multimedia presentation can be of great benefit. You can get it packaged into a form that you find convenient – CD, DVD or mini-DVD.
Probably the best feature of the multimedia presentation that makes it so powerful is the combination of various media elements – audio, video, text and animations – all working in sync with each other. The quality of content, the visuals and animation, all play a significant role in enhancing the quality and impact-level of a presentation.
This platform offers significant levels of flexibility in terms of the components that you wish to include depending upon your business profile and the products and services you offer. Source From Multimedia Presentations – The New Way to Communicate
